Warringah Freeway Upgrade

Warringah Freeway Upgrade is a major infrastructure project in Sydney aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity across one of Australia’s business corridors. Ballyhooly Civil were awarded a no. of contracts on the project including ITS, Stormwater Drainage, utility relocation and provision of labour & plant.

Hill Road upgrade

The Hill Road upgrade involves widening the road and enhancing intersections near Sydney Olympic Park to ease congestion and improve access to the Carter Street Precinct.

Ballyhooly Civil were engaged to deliver the stormwater drainage along with general earthworks and pavement construction along with traffic switches and implementation of Traffic Management Plans.

Appin Ventilation & Mine Shaft

This project involved the construction of critical
underground ventilation infrastructure, including two major shafts, three extraction fans, and supporting facilities to improve safety and access within the Appin coal mine.

Ballyhooly Civil was engaged to deliver the construction of the ventilation shafts and associated ancillary infrastructure. Our scope included detailed excavation, formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement.

Medlow Bath Highway Upgrade

The Medlow Bath Highway Upgrade project involved improvements to the Great Western Highway through Medlow Bath by widening a 1.2km section to four lanes, adding traffic signals, dedicated turning lanes, and a new pedestrian bridge.

Ballyhooly Civil was awarded the contract for stormwater drainage works on the project. The scope also included bioretention pond construction, shared path construction, and pavement works.

Warragamba Pipeline & Valve Upgrade

The Warragamba Pipeline and Valves Upgrade involved WaterNSW replacing and refurbishing major valves and control systems on the main pipeline that supplies 80% of Greater Sydney’s drinking water.

Ballyhooly Civil were engaged to carryout remedial works around the existing pipeline, including stabilising embankments and associated drainage structures and to construct new drainage channels and culverts.

Sydney International Speedway

This major motorsport development included the construction of a new speedway track for cars and motorcycles, pit areas, garages, grandstands, terraced seating for over 7,000 spectators, and dedicated event parking.

Ballyhooly Civil was engaged to deliver stormwater drainage for the
project, as well as undertake construction of the racing track itself.

Parramatta Light Rail

The Parramatta Light Rail project delivered 12km of dual-track light rail, connecting Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD. Ballyhooly Civil was engaged to deliver stormwater drainage and CSR installation within the CPB portion of the project, working within a constrained brownfield environment. Additional works included earthworks, pavements, and minor concreting.

Sydney Metro – Central Station

The Sydney Metro Central Station Project included creating new metro platforms 27m underground, building the Central Concourse and upgrading the Northen Concourse.

Ballyhooly Civil were engaged to complete the tunnel excavation works an underpass which involved rock sawing, rock grinding and rock breaking.

SOUTHERN HIGHLAND SHOOTING RANGE

This projects aim was to enhance safety, accessibility, and environmental performance at the Southern Highlands Regional Shooting Complex. Key improvements included new acoustic shelters, solar infrastructure, and improved access across the shooting ranges.

Ballyhooly Civil was engaged to construct the earth mounds, bullet stops, and all-weather access tracks. Our scope included shaping acoustic mounds and building durable access roads using on-site materials.

WestConnex M8 (New M5)

  • Jan 2017 to Sept 2020 & Feb 2023 to Present

WestConnex New M5 Project involved the construction of 9km of twin tunnel, construction of St Peters Interchange and the upgrading of the Local Rd network in St Peters. Ballyhooly Civil delivered stormwater drainage for the Local Roads in St Peters, along with earthworks, pavements, and minor concreting. In 2023, they were re-engaged for additional works across the project.

NORTHCONNEX TUNNEL

NorthConnex is a 9km twin tunnel motorway that provides a direct link between the M1 Pacific Motorway at Wahroonga and the Hills M2 Motorway at West Pennant Hills.

Ballyhooly Civil was engaged to deliver stormwater drainage works at the Hills M2 intersection, as well as utility installation, detailed pavement excavations, and concreting.

Princes Highway Upgrade – Dapto

The upgrade was part of the Fowlers Road to Fairwater Drive Link project, the largest transport infrastructure project ever undertaken by the Wollongong City Council.

Ballyhooly Civil were awarded the stormwater drainage install along with the construction of various drainage structures and minor FRP works.

New South Wales. These works typically
involve the renewal and improvement of
existing road infrastructure, including pavement
resurfacing, kerb and gutter upgrades, footpath
reconstruction, stormwater drainage, signage,
lighting, and landscaping.
